The small village of Albagnano lies some 600 meters in the hills above Lake Maggiore, between the lakeside town of Intra and the famous tourist resort of Premeno. Albagnano is perfectly placed just nearby the nature reserve of "Sacro Monte della Santissima Trinita" and the "Val Grande" mountain range, overlooking the dreamy landscape of the lake. Surrounded by a pine forest and chestnut trees, it is the ideal place to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, in an environment where the elements are still pure.

 

Val Grande is the largest wilderness in Europe (14,598 hm), an unspoilt island of mountains and valleys with fascinating and mysterious places among canyons, precipices, dense woods and breathtaking views. It starts from the edge of the basin of Lake Maggiore and extends until it meets the southern sector of the Lepontine Alps.
